Keep on Movin...

The Brady’s were a happy bunch. After each drama they gathered for a positive family wrap-up with a recap of the lesson learned. There all listened intently to each other and just kept on grovin’ through their stress. I do believe a lot of their happiness was due to the fact that Alice lived in a bedroom behind the stovetop. Carol was a smart woman. If she was going to raise three extra boys and greet Mike with a cocktail and curled hair each evening, she needed an extra set of hands. Carol always seems to be dressed to go someplace, and many episodes feature her reading in bed or sharing drink with Mike. I don’t ever remember her looking exhausted or overwhelmed, and I think she has Alice to thank.

As my favorite Badass Jen Sincero reminds us “ Making time to do the things that inspire you should be a priority because, um, what’s the point of living life without them? This is not a luxury reserved for people who are richer, smarter, or less bogged down then you are (pg. 165 of You Are A Badass). “

This month I started asking around for suggestions on how to delegate the things I don’t like and find more time for JOY. Thanks to my tribe, I learned some fun new tips:

Since I get stressed over getting dressed and do not enjoy shopping, Kristen & John suggested I give Stitch Fix a try. I had used it four years ago but felt that I was over spending. After I reviewed my account and saw that the four items I purc…

Since I get stressed over getting dressed and do not enjoy shopping, Kristen & John suggested I give Stitch Fix a try. I had used it four years ago but felt that I was over spending. After I reviewed my account and saw that the four items I purchased in 2015 are still staples in my wardrobe, I was ready to give it a second try! I purchased three out of five items I was sent and really enjoyed the adorable note from “my stylist (that alone sounds super cool).” I have signed up to get shipments every four months so it doesn’t get out of control (inserted for Todd’s benefit).

When Bryson said it this was worth the listen, I was all ears! Mark Manson suggests how to pay attention to where and when you give an F..and it’s really funny.

After Fiona recommended this podcast, Todd & I listened on a solo road trip. It allowed us to focus on this story and not discuss parenting stress. We are looking forward to watching the tv show on Bravo next month!

Amy sent this link to me and after watching on Facebook Live, I downloaded her entire author series. Jen is so inspiring and I was motivated to try Facebook LIVE for a library event after watching her do it!

$5 DIY Joy Hack.jpg

Joy Hack

Thanks Kate for suggesting each time I have a $5 bill in my wallet, to hide it away in a drawer (photo of my actual drawer-see the larger version on insta @samigreenfield). I dream of going to Paris and am already $60 closer to this dream now that I have adopted this habit! Read just how fast it can add up here.

Brad shared this yogi Adriene with me and she delivers her classes right into your home via YouTube! So helpful for when you are at home but want to get your yoga on.

Cheers to squeezing in more joy! Namaste.-)
