Perspective is everything...
I have mentioned the book Girl Wash Your Face before, and Rachel Hollis’s podcasts are a great way to get her inspiring advice for free! She talks about the power of little changes to help shift your overall perspective. I find I need to read and listen to a team to push me back onto a positive track.
Jenny B gave me Life on the Leash, which is a hilarious story of a dog-trainer Cora and her bumpy romances. Author Victoria Schade’s love of the dogs really shines through, and I found myself seeing things from my own dog, Simba’s, perspective.
Angie Thomas’s intent with The Hate Your Give, was to write the story of Starr and her racial injustice in hopes of inspiring readers (and movie viewers) to do more and judge less. I won’t give it away, but it was a powerful read and I am trying to see the movie. I also love that each time I mention this book, it sparks a conversation with my friends and their children who have read it as well! Grateful to my sister for passing it along.
In Girl Wash Your Face fashion, Keri gave me a Make-Up Eraser which has inspired me to actually remove my make-up at night. I am also motivated to keep my silk pillowcase clean. I switched from satin to silk since my hormones are making me wake up very sweaty (see explanation in previous post) and satin doesn’t breathe. Silk pillowcases not only help with frizzy hair and tangles, but with wrinkles as well. SLIP is what Keri (and @livingwithlandyn) recommend, but I went with a cheaper brand on Amazon.
Thank you Lauren for sharing Bumble’s products and Laura for convincing me that the curly hair bands would not feel like an old school phone cord in my hair. Share the love and slip some of these items to your curly haired friends!
Pickle Juice
the new superfood?
I am smiling in this pic, because I took a shot of pickle juice and did not have any cramps!
